Robyn Youkilis, a holistic health coach and co-host of Veria Living’s healthy lifestyle talk show The Juice, splits her time between New York City and Los Angeles with her husband (tough life!).

And since she gets to experience the wellness scenes in both cities—where there’s practically a juice bar and boutique fitness studio on every corner—this insider has great taste, and knows her healthy haunt from a wellness wannabe.

Here’s where she’s sipping (and chewing, and sweating, and running, and shopping) in the LA sunshine right now. —Jamie McKillop

Juice Bar: L.A. Juice Shop

“My favorite juice bar right now is L.A. Juice Shop. They have this one specific drink that’s like nothing else. It’s an almond nut milk with drinkable rose essence, which is a hot new ingredient. It calms the nerves and digestive system.”

Healthy Lunch Spot: Stamp Proper Foods

“Places where you order at the counter are really big in LA right now. At Stamp Proper, you can eat in or take out. They have a lot of really lean, healthy, gluten-free options. They make their muffins with almond-coconut flour, and they have their own homemade almond milk and coconut milk. It’s also a little market. It feels like a place on Martha’s Vineyard made LA-chic.”

Shape House LA

Detox: Shape House Larchmont

“My favorite thing is Shape House—it’s my absolute obsession. They call themselves an urban sweat lodge. They use infrared sauna therapy and it’s the same idea as a sauna, but you’re not sitting in a sauna, you’re laying in a bed, in a sort of sleeping bag. They have color therapy and aromatherapy as well. You can watch Hulu, Netflix, anything, as you sweat your brains out. There’s also a relaxation room with tea and fresh orange slices. It’s first-class treatment here. You walk out, and your skin is glowing. Tons of celebrities go here, like my client Taylor Schilling, Cameron Diaz, and Kristen Bell.”

Running Route: Silver Lake Reservoir

“One of my favorite workouts is running around the Silver Lake Reservoir. You’re by a body of water but you’re surrounded by mountains. It’s about 2.3 miles around the whole thing.”

Lorna Jane Santa Monica

Fitness Fashion Boutique: Lorna Jane Santa Monica

“All of Lorna Jane’s stuff is so well-made. Everything is double-seamed. The cuts and fabrics are very slimming, all of the drawstrings in her pants lay perfectly flat, and I don’t see through a tight tank. That’s why she charges a little more. In LA, it’s completely acceptable to spend your entire day and night in workout clothing, so it can be everyday clothing also.”

Indoor Cycling Studio: Cycle House

“I love Nichelle [Hines]. She’s Madonna’s spin instructor. Madonna will only have her. She’s like the Tony Robbins of spinning. It’s always the hardest class of my entire life. Nichelle breaks you down to build you back up. What is normal for you in a class is completely shattered.”

Erewhon Market LA

Grocery Store: Erewhon Natural Foods Market Fairfax

“This is the go-to natural foods store in LA, but they also have a Tonic Bar with amazing smoothies and juices. They have this green ice cream—it’s a bonkers creation that would only be in LA. It’s less of an ice cream and more of a frozen smoothie with a spoon. It’s made with chlorophyll, spirulina, and bee pollen. It’s very green but very delicious.”

Yoga Class: Oh Wow Gallery

“This is taught by my friend, Kyle Miller, who used to teach at Yoga Vida in New York City. It’s in an art gallery surrounded by whatever show is up. It’s a twice-a-week private class for the owner and employees, artists, and friends of the gallery.”
