While there are so many amazing shops in New York City to shop for cool wellness gifts, beauty boutiques that sell only safe, natural products are few and far between.

For the month of December, at least, that will change a little, with the opening of Shen Beauty’s holiday pop-up boutique in Fort Greene, which will feature a curated selection of the Cobble Hill store’s best all-natural beauty and wellness products.

“As a shopper, you want to be able to support meaningful all-natural brands,” owner Jessica Richards says. “Beauty is something that’s so giftable, and the holiday pop-up is my little jewel box. Everything in here is special.”

Think beauty products from Pai Skincare, makeup from Ilia Beauty, and detoxifying bath soaks from Pursoma. It will also offer brow-shaping services on Thursdays and Sundays by appointment.

The space is attached to Gabriela De La Vega, an upscale jewelry and clothing boutique, and at 350 square feet, is tiny in comparison to the Cobble Hill location. It’s decorated with sugar plum walls, antique furniture, and Indian rugs, which is “more of a reflection of my style,” Richards says.

And while the space is only a pop-up, Richards hints at a second permanent Shen Beauty location somewhere in Brooklyn down the line. “We’ll see how this one goes,” she says. —Jamie McKillop
