My Studio Style: Christine Bibbo Herr

Christine Bibbo Herr is a New York City fashion stylist and brand spokesperson with a serious fitness bent. (She’s worked with everyone from Betsy Johnson to Roxy.) Every week she scans the showrooms for the latest looks—including hot sneakers, racer-back tanks, and chic capris.

And she’s known for putting them to use for fab photo shoots on her blog NYC Pretty (where she’s also the fitness model)—and toward her own butt-kicking workouts, surfing sessions, and marathons.

With the ING New York City Marathon coming up, we asked the urban athlete (who shared her rocking time of 3:47 on her last race) what stylish marathoners should run in on November 3.

Here are Herr’s favorite pieces of the moment that can go the extra mile—all 26.2 of them, in fact:

newbalance1. New Balance Women’s Limited Edition NYC Running Shoes 890v4, $119.99

You’ve gotta love the New York runner spirit of these awesome limited-addition kicks. They’re lightweight and designed for the big day, with comfy neutral cushioning and stability. Plus they’re covered in uber-cool graphics of the Brooklyn Bridge and New York City skyline. Could that mean you get more sideline cheering?!

run_with_your-heart_lorna-jane-tank2. Lorna Jane “Run With Your Heart” Tank, $34.99

I’m a big fan of Lorna Jane’s inspirational tanks and this one is super comfy, made from a stretch-cotton blend. Layered over a favorite sports bra, I could see lots of women rocking motivating tank on race day—it’s not too heavy and easy to move in, which is ideal.

3. Lululemon Fast Cat Skirt, $58

lululemon_runskirtI like the flirty and fast combo that you get wearing this pleated running skirt from Lululemon. A bonus when wearing a skirt is the amount of mobility you get—no thigh clinging constriction. It has built-in moisture wicking shorts, too, so you’ll run with total booty-covering confidence all the way to the finish line.

4. Sparkly Soul Blue/Pink Striped Wide Headband, $17

No girl should run without a little extra sparkle to up the positive energy! These feminine, no-slip headbands from Sparkly Soul keep bangs and fly-aways off your face. And I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of runners wearing them this year. They’ve become super popular.

american_eagle_sports_bra5. AEO Performance Crossback Bra, $14.99

This hot-hued crossback sports bra, from American Eagle Outfitter’s active collection, gives me the perfect amount of support with lots of comfort in a moisture-wicking, 4-way stretch fabric. It’s fun, fashionable and most important, functional. Oh, and super affordable.

6. Adidas Supernova Long-Sleeve Tee, $45

Adidas_marathonMarathon morning starts very early, usually with chilly temps. Everyone needs to start the race with a few extra layers that you can easily peel off over the race. This bright long-sleeve running tee has Climacool wicking technology to keep runners cool and dry. And I really think you want to go big and bright with a neon hue, so friends and family can spot you miles away! —Melisse Gelula
