The trainer who can make any workout feel like a party

My Workout Playlist: Kore New York’s Joe Buffa

joe_buffaStill running to songs of seasons past? We’re here to help! Each week, we share the tunes of popular fitness instructors who’ve got a serious knack for cranking out amazingly motivating music.

When Kore debuted in New York’s Meatpacking District, master trainer Joe Buffa made sure to keep the new studio on theme with its clubby new ‘hood. That meant flashy lights, beat-driven routines—plus music that motivates you as much as the instructors.

“It helps to be dancing in your head if you’re getting completely worked to the bone on the workout floor,” jokes Buffa of the studio’s intense HIIT workout. “I always look for songs that are upbeat and rhythms that would naturally make anybody move on a dance floor.” Here are his favorite tunes of the moment. —Sarah Sarway
