The brand-new RMS Lip Shines sold out within three hours on Spirit Beauty Lounge, a luxury organic online retailer based in New York City, whose Facebook status alerted customers this week.
Of course, a new lipstick shade from Nars or Bobbi Brown can cause a wait list or all out run on the cosmetics counter.
But what’s different in the case of this cult-favorite? The colors—Bloom (a pale pink) and Moment (a natural brown)—are only part of what’s captivating consumers.
I’d put money on the high-quality certified organic ingredients in the Lip Shines ($29), like Moringa oil. “Most companies don’t use this amazing oil because it is extremely pricey,” says Rose Marie Swift, the New York makeup artist and founder of the chemical-free line. “But it’s really healing and it ensures that this USDA-certified Lip Shine will never get sticky and gooey.”
Solving a long-standing beauty conundrum, Swift’s products are incredibly elegant yet virtually unprocessed—they almost follow a raw food philosophy of preserving natural ingredient nutrients by not doing too much to them.
We’ll keep you posted when they’re back in stock at Spirit Beauty Lounge. In the meantime, you can still purchase them at RMSBeauty.com.
