Welcome to our weekly roundup of wellness tidbits, healthy hints, and new places and products that caught our eye. Our Page Six!

Anusara shake-up. The heart-0pening yoga community was all a buzz this week as three top teachers—Elena Brower, Christina Sell, and Darren Rhodes—all decided to retire their formal Anusara certifications and branch out on their own. Elena Brower explained her decision on Yoga Dork, and John Friend responded to the exodus in an interview with Waylon Lewis on Elephant Journal.

Male polish. Birchbox reported that a new brand, EvolutionMan, is launching a line of just-for-dudes nail polish this month. And we’re not talking clear-coat manicures. There are shades of silver and metallic purple, to name a few. We’re not sure who they’re target demographic is (bad-ass rock stars and teens in their Goth phase?). But we’re hoping the polish is 3-free. Even dudes deserve a chemical-free coat.

Adidas adipure trainer
Adidas' new barefoot running shoe—the Adipure Trainer

Barefoot running (on the treadmill). Adidas released a new contender in the “barefoot running” (barely) sneaker category this week, the Adipure Trainer. According to FitPerez, the fitness brand claims the Adipure is “the first barefoot training shoe designed specifically for the gym.” Okay, but “barefoot” and “gym” in the same sentence just sounds gross. The lack of padding better not be accompanied by a lack of gym-germ protection.

Deepak goes digital. According to the Wall Street Journal, Deepak Chopra is adding “digital curator” to his lengthy list of spiritual and wellness endeavors. Chopra joined the board of wellness-product peddling company AHALife this week, where he’ll curate his own corner of the site. His first contribution to the site is his own digital product: his new video game, Leela, which will be released next week. More on that interesting product from us soon…

Shiva Rea

Shiva goes east. Super-famous LA yogi Shiva Rea is launching an East Coast tour that starts next week, according to Yoganonymous. Her first stop, of course, is New York City, where she’ll be leading a full day of classes and events (complete with live, rhythmic drummers) at Sonic Yoga.

Don’t drink to your health. The association between increased alcohol consumption and breast cancer risk in women is somewhat firmly established. But, while previous studies focused on heavier drinking, a new study released this week showed that an increase in risk could be associated with as little as three to six drinks per week. According to Self, physicians are still saying a drink a day is fine, since the increase in risk at six drinks or less is incredibly small. Plus, how else will we protect our hearts without a little red wine now and then?

Muscle-soothing spa. Exhale Mind Body Spa announced the launch of two new products this week: Coolsabi is a post-workout cooling muscle balm, and the Muscle Detox Scrub will soothe muscles, and skin. Both sound perfect for some post-marathon bodywork. We can’t wait to see the label of ingredients, since they’re known for natural-leaning products.
