Juice bible. This Tuesday, juice-missionary Kris Carr released an e-book called Crazy Sexy Juices and Succulent Smoothies. It’s a collection of 60 recipes, many of which are from fans. The e-book price is a pretty steep $20. Vitamix not included.
Lead-laden lipstick. A new FDA study found lead in 400 lipsticks, including one big-deal natural brand. The good news: There’s a campaign to get the lead out. And we have suggestions for cleaner options.
Wanderlust goes Canadian. The yoga-music festival brand announced yet another new location this week. Wanderlust will cross the border into the Great White North, with an event this summer in Whistler, British Columbia on August 23. No, you won’t need your yoga parka that time of year.
Light another candle. The famed Upper East Side vegan restaurant pair, Candle 79 and Candle Cafe, will soon be a trio with the opening of Candle Cafe West across town. The new Upper West Side location, expected to open in April, will be a “hybrid of both,” according to a local blogger.
The vinyasa of Pilates. A new cardio-infused Pilates studio, Pilates ProWorks, opened in Union Square this week, with its own version of the Reformer and a promise to make you sweat while you’re on it.
Safe sex, delivered. A trendy condom company introduced a new monthly subscription service that delivers condoms to your doorstep. You’ll never have to get out of bed again. Or face the smirking cashier at Duane Reade.
