PETA's advertising is about to get a whole lot raunchier

Welcome to our weekly roundup of wellness tidbits, healthy hints, and new places and products that caught our eye. Our Page Six!

PETA porn. We didn't think PETA could stoop any lower than last winter's veggie fellatio superbowl ad, but apparently they can. Grubstreet reported that the animal rights organization is taking advantage of the new "xxx" domain to launch PETA.xxx, which will feature pornographic images that lead people to information about how animals suffer in the food industry. Sigh. Those "We'd rather wear nothing ads" just seem so quaint now.

Blowouts blow up.  Drybar, New York's newest blowout-only salon, opened its doors during Fashion Week. This week, they welcomed fitness types, as SoulCycle offered free passes to celebrate the debut of showers at its Union Square location. With a $40 flat-rate price tag, a simple styling menu, and chic interiors, we're sure New Yorkers of all stripes (and highlights) are about to be turned on the the beauty of the blowout.

Adventurous openings. First New Yorkers got their yoga pants on, now they're getting their adventure on. Patagonia just signed a lease on an Upper East Side pop-up shop at 84th Street and 3rd Avenue, and Racked reported that if the outdoor fitness brand likes the space, they may make it a permanent home. Meanwhile, we spotted signs of a brand-new mega-REI opening on Houston and Lafayette. Guess you won't have to go far to suit up for some brisk fall hikes.

Equinox turns 20. New York's favorite upscale gym is stepping into its third decade this month, and we celebrated by checking out a special 20th anniversary workout event yesterday. It was a mash-up of group fitness past, present, and future. After everyone practiced their grapevines and box steps in a fitness blast-from-the-past class, they sampled a new action figure workout Equinox recently debuted. The workout of the future, you ask? Equinox pegged it as none other than Patricia Moreno's Intensati.
