If you wannabe up on your health game, you’ve gotta get behind Victoria Beckham’s wellness practices. (Sorry, had to.)

The fashion designer-slash-former Spice Girl has already revealed the secrets of her a.m. workouts—think four-mile runs on the treadmill or ballet classes—but in an interview with The Edit, she divulged the healthy habits she practices all day long.

While, yes, she’s got a cadre of pros making sure she does her body good (among them nutritionist Amelia Freer and Los Angeles-based dermatologist Dr. Harold Lancer), many of her wellness commandments are ones anyone can abide by.

And she’s not keeping these rules to herself. “There are two types of women out there: there’s the kind of woman who finds something nice and likes to keep it to herself, and then there’s the other type, which is me, who wants to share,” she says. “I want to share everything I know.”

1. Eat salmon every day for clear skin.

Her secret? Get that glow from within. “I eat lots of good fats, in avocados, nuts, seeds, salmon,” Beckham says. “[Dr. Lancer] sorted my skin out. I used to have really problematic skin and he said to me, ‘You have to eat salmon every single day.’ I said, ‘Really, every day?’ And he said, ‘Yes; breakfast, lunch or dinner, you have to eat it every single day.’”


2. For once and for all: wear your sunscreen and drink your water.

As Beckham has gotten older, she’s learned the importance of treating her body right. “You realize how vital it is to wear sunscreen; to drink lots of water; to cleanse, tone, moisturize,” she says. Basically, the staples of having a better complexion. So if it’s something you heard from your mom as a kid, you should probably still incorporate it into your routine.


3. Fit in a sweat sesh first thing.

Running before her family wakes up is the norm for Beckham (hey, you’ve got to fit it in somehow). “I usually get up about 6 a.m., do a bit of a workout, get the kids up, get them changed,” she explains. “Give them breakfast, get them to school, then do a bit more working out before I go to the office.” Phew. Props to Beckham for sweating it out twice before her workday begins.


4. Empower yourself.

Perhaps the most posh health tip from Beckham? Don’t depend on others to build yourself up. “I think you have to [empower] yourself, rather than rely on other people to do that,” she says. “It’s great to get a compliment from your husband, or your kids, or another woman, but you also have to make yourself feel good.” Amen—rock that self love.
