Swapping your go-to steamy beverages for their quenching iced cousins is one of those small-scale yet super-satisfying adjustments that counteracts the sweltering heat of summertime. Making things even more satisfying is a tip from healthy-living blogger Lee Tilghman of Lee from America, with her simple method for making clump-free cold-brew matcha. It's clutch for when the temperatures soar—or, as the #lifehacks superstar put it in a recent Instagram post, "for those too-hot days where putting on the kettle isn’t even an option."

First thing's first: You need your fave matcha at the ready. In her IG stories, Tilghman says she's partial to Ippodo Tea's Ummon-no-mukashi blend and prefers any option sans sugar, but whatever emerald green powder you choose, just add one teaspoon of it to the bottom of a mason jar (or any beverage container with a lid). Next, drop in 4 to 5 ice cubes, add 8 to 10 ounces of water, and secure the lid on the jar.

A very chill Sunday with my library book, sunlight peaking in, and an icy cold brew matcha ??? Does anyone else clean their library books with all purpose spray before bringing them into the house or is it just me? ??‍♀️ This is one of my matcha recipes for those too-hot days where putting on the kettle isn’t even an option. Cold brew matcha recipe: 1. Take 1 tsp of any pure matcha blend (make sure there are no added sugars- sometimes blends sneak that in) 2. Add it into a glass mason jar along with 4-5 ice cubes 3. Add 8-10 oz. filtered water to jar. Seal tightly with a mason jar lid, and shake the contents of the jar hard for 30 seconds or until clumps are gone. No blender, whisk, or straining needed. Cool off, perk up and buzz high! #leefromamerica

To complete your creation, shake the jar vigorously for 30 seconds, which will effectively dissolve those annoying clumps, "no blender, whisk, or straining needed," Tilghman notes.

So given this truly James Bond–style stroke of genius, it turns out that your cold-brew matcha—which can boost your metabolism, calm your mind, and flood your body with antioxidants—is best enjoyed shaken, not stirred. How's that for conversation fodder at your next healthy happy hour?

If you dig matcha, moringa might just be your next beverage of choice. Here's how to sip it in latte form.
