Your new favorite boutique fitness studio may just be an activewear store.
While Athleta Flatiron has been hosting fitness classes among its clothing racks for a while, it just transformed a space in its basement level into a full-blown workout studio, with a check-in desk, dressing rooms, and towel service.
There are currently about three (complimentary!) classes per day (you sign up using MindBody), which hold 30 people and range from barre and yoga to HIIT.
Most of the instructors and methods coming from nearby studios, like The Movement, Work Train Fight, and Yoga Vida, and there are also cool indie classes like Daphnie Yang’s HIIT IT on the schedule. A grand opening party hosted by Fit+Love on December 5 comes with a stellar instructor line-up—Kristin Kenney, Andia Winslow, Colleen Saidman Yee, and Katherine Greiner.
Warning: No matter which sweat session you show up for, shopping for new leggings on your way in or out is going to be hard to resist. —Jamie McKillop
