The Burning Man Live Stream Lets You Check Out the Festival, Whether or Not You Wanted to Make the Pilgrimage

The idea of hanging out in the desert amid the hottest temps of the year sounds borderline bonkers, in theory. And yet, Burning Man—the project-slash-festival-slash-community that pops up in Black Rock City, Nevada annually, drew 69,493 people last year alone. Folks of all walks of life make the trek each year to participate in an "annual experiment in temporary community dedicated to radical self-expression and radical self-reliance," according to the website.

Unsurprisingly, that extremely open-ended and vague description is precisely why the festival is the ultimate venue for people-watching. (No rules? No social constructs? No...clothes?) But you can totally be a voyeur without digging through your closet for your camping gear, or voluntarily melting in a dust bowl in the middle of nowhere. This year, Burning Man is using the power of modern technology to let anyone, anywhere live-stream the activities happening through September 3.

The only question: Will watching the sand-laden shenanigans give you FOMO or JOMO?
