These $10 stylish acupuncture ear beads help fund Nepal earthquake relief

CrystalForACause2Everyone loves crystals. But when that something sparkly is for a good cause? Even better.

Union Square’s Yinova Center is currently offering Crystals for a Cause, an acupuncture-style ear treatment using Swarovski crystals to raise money for Nepal earthquake relief.

The treatment is usually done with simple beads. But for this version, Yinova tapes three blingy ones to acupuncture points in your ear, where they’re said to relieve stress or give you energy (depending on the treatment you need). You wear them for a few days.

“The beads don’t pierce the skin, so they’re very safe, but they do stimulate specific acu-points, so they’ll be effective,” says Yinova Center founder and wellness luminary Jill Blakeway.

Treatments are $10, open to walk-ins, and 100 percent of the proceeds go to Care for Nepal earthquake relief. We can’t think of a better (or cuter) way to do a little good for yourself and others at the same time. —Jamie McKillop
