The South Bronx is representing with the first ever pop-up shop and gallery in the five boroughs to blend hip-hop, art, and wellness.

Circa ’95 Pop-Up Shop, located on Louis Nine Boulevard, was created by hip-hop duo Circa ’95 (Patty Dukes and Reph) to showcase the work of local street artists. But the pair is also offering a series of wellness workshops in collaboration with Amy Galper, creator of natural beauty line Buddha Nose, and Karim Orange, a prominent makeup artist and green beauty activist.

That means a “Mommy and Me Beauty Day” with organic nail, hair, and beauty products, a “Let’s Green the Hood” presentation by Orange, and a “Live Well” day dedicated to alternative health, medicine, yoga, and nutrition.

“The main intention of the space is to inspire and encourage community through wellness and sustainable events, and art,” says Galper. That’s a mission we can get behind.

Circa ’95 Pop-Up Shop, 1303 Louis Nine Blvd. Open now through July 28 on Wed. & Fri. 1–6 p.m. and Sat. 1–7 p.m. For the calendar of wellness and beauty workshops, click here.
