Mayor Bloomberg is not the only one kicking sugar to the curb these days.

On Tuesday, June 12, health coach (and Well+Good contributor) Jennifer Kass and celeb yogi Kristin McGee will teach a “Sugar Junkie” class at Whole Foods Tribeca, focusing on how to harness the hankering for sweetness that New Yorkers battle every day.

“Sugar addiction is actually a nutritional crisis and one that most of my clients struggle with,” says Kass. “It has a real physiological hold on us, creating toxicity in our bodies and wreaking havoc on our skin, mood, and overall health.”

To help free you from its delicious grip, Kass will share practical tips to beat cravings—like drinking a mega glass of water as soon as the yearning sets in. And McGee will lead attendees in a cleansing yoga practice, meant to help you feel “light and free” for summer.

The event is free, but space is limited to 10 people for yoga (6:00 p.m.) and 20 for the lecture portion (6:45 p.m.). Email [email protected] to register, and indicate if you’d like to attend one or both portions of the event.
