Chelsea Piers taps Flywheel Sports to lead its Connecticut spin program

Superstar Flywheel instructors like Holly Rilinger and Aleah Stander are soon going to be clocking some serious miles on MetroNorth, as well as their spin bikes.

That’s because Flywheel’s newest spin studio will open this summer inside Chelsea Piers’ new 400,000 square-foot Stamford, Connecticut location.

The Flywheel studio will be the fifteenth location in the country for the indoor-cycling brand, and its first in Connecticut.

And the new Chelsea Piers’ facility, opening in July, will be a massive playground for athletes and fitness buffs, like its Hudson River Parkway big brother.

The suburban facility will house two ice rinks (for hockey and figure skating), a 15,000-square-foot gymnastics center, and an aquatics center that includes an Olympic-sized pool and what sounds like a water park with three giant slides.

The Flywheel Sports studio here will feature the brand’s signature stadium-seating, as well as Flybarre classes.

With Flywheel bringing its cult-following and cool-factor into the mix, you can have your boutique fitness experience AND your full-service gym, a trend we expect to see more of.

Don’t be surprised if, come summer, the Metro-North commuter set is looking way fitter than usual.
