Flywheel hosts 4-hour charity spin with all-star riders

Women’s Sports Foundation trustee Laila Ali was going to ride on Tuesday, but has cancelled due to her pregnancy. Congrats Laila!

Flywheel Sports raises money like it rides, with a focus on athleticism. Next Tuesday, the high performance Flatiron spin studio is hosting “Fly for Women’s Sports,” four consecutive spin classes to raise money for the Women’s Sports Foundation’s GoGirlGo! program.

When Soul Cycle hosts charity rides, its M.O. is to pack the house with Page Six bold-face names. At Flywheel, the featured celebs got their fame on the playing field or the ice skating rink. (And bravo to them for sticking with that strategy after the Tiki Barber fiasco.)

Saddle up next to figure skating legend Michelle Kwan (she’ll be riding in the 7:00 a..m. class), Basketball Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman, Olympic softball player Jessica Mendoza and track & field legend Benita Fitzgerald Mosley. We wonder if rider’s stats will be transmitted to the screens. We’d love to see Benita Mosley’s power output for inspiration.

If you’re interested in spinning for a great cause, all 212-242-9433 to book a book. $50 donation per bike. We’ll be riding in the 10:00 a.m. class along with Georgina Bloomberg, equestrian champ and the Mayor’s daughter. Hope to see you there! —Alexia Brue and Melisse Gelula
