With the Rare Full Blue Moon in Taurus on Halloween, You Can Expect Intense and Spooky Energy all Week

The week ahead brings spooky and abrupt transformation, right from the start. On Sunday, October 25, Mercury conjoins the sun while in full retrograde mode. This is when his trickster-like nature will likely reveal itself. But while technological mayhem may be afoot, so, too, is wisdom. To make the most of this, do the work to turn inward, listen to your intuition's voice, and sensitize yourself to the direction it's guiding you. For the rest of the week, as tensions build toward the full blue moon in Taurus on Halloween, this guiding advice is key to embrace.

With the moon waxing toward a full blue moon in Taurus this week, the energy of revelation and momentum of change builds. On Tuesday, the 27th, Venus exits Virgo and enters into its home domain of Libra. (For most of the month, she's traveled in fastidious and detail-oriented Virgo, supporting an inward glance at what we need to do on our paths to elevate into grander service of others and the planet.) In Libra, Venus is even more justice-oriented, but simultaneously more relationship-focused, too.

Also on Tuesday, Mercury leaves Scorpio to revisit Libra (remember, Mercury traveling retrograde means he's retracing where he's recently been). Mercury and Venus concurrently in cardinal air sign Libra beckon us to examine where we are and aren't in sync with our deepest values and invite us to become even more congruent with the truth of who we are. So, ask yourself: What are you learning? And ,what do you need to acknowledge and integrate now?

On the Wednesday, the waxing gibbous moon moves into Aries and conjoins Chiron, the wounded healer, as the sun in Scorpio forms a quincunx to this conjunction. With the full blue moon in Taurus quickly on its way, take time on Thursday to acknowledge what you need to release, let go of, and surrender. Where are you holding too tightly to your wounds, hardship, and pain? What can you do to shed and surrender resentments and past hurts?

2020 is soon to come to a close, and much of this year will require our forgiveness and acceptance for the canceled plans, and hopes and dreams that couldn't flourish amid the pandemic. With the sun making a challenging connection with the moon and Chiron, remember that healing is cyclical, not progressive, and it's up to us to make space for forgiveness so we can begin again. During this process, anger is valid, but it's far better to express it outwardly than allow it to fester inside. Move energy through and out of your body with a brisk walk, cathartic dancing, or any cardio activity that allows you to express yourself.

On Thursday the 29th, Jupiter and the north node of fate also form a quincunx—a combination that asks you to surrender overindulgence in favor of a new road opening. Consider letting go of foods that don't support your energy, overspending that compromises your goals for saving, and/or codependent behaviors that negate your inner sovereignty. Whatever it is for you, be resolute. Try to let go of what holds you back.

Usually, a full moon in Taurus is about sensual enjoyment, but this one is way more about howling, aggressively, at the moon. Let your angst be medicinal.

Come Friday, October 30, we begin to feel the effects of the full blue moon in Taurus, which perfects at 11:53 a.m., ET, on the 31st. With the tumult of the political season and the pandemic, there's already enough mischief in the atmosphere, so we need nt create more; however, the cosmic influences may urge us toward our emotions' expression. So, feel your feelings by blasting some music, pounding a pillow, and expressing rage—but be mindful to do so without lashing out at others. This is not a gentle, benign, or easy full moon, after all.

Happening at 8 degrees of Taurus—in conjunction with Uranus, the planet of disruption—this full, blue, Samhain full moon occurs at a time of year when information floods our psychic capacities. The high road here is to acquaint ourselves with our shadows and deepen our connection to our ancestors. That said, with Mercury opposing Eris, the dwarf planet of discord, while squaring Saturn, the disciplinarian, you can expect bold and unexpected news, the revelation of secrets. Mars, still retrograde, squares Jupiter, and Venus in Libra opposes Chiron in Aries; this means feelings might seem overwhelming, as old pain from the past potentially resurfaces.

Usually, a full moon in Taurus is about sensual enjoyment, but this one is way more about howling, aggressively, at the moon. Let your angst be medicinal. Reclaim the sacred qualities of the full moon, Samhain, and the shadow self. Get creative, but do stay home. It's not a night to throw caution to the wind regarding pandemic health precautions and gather with others.

Instead, get in touch with your emotions, and allow yourself to act out your dark side in costume. On the constructive side of things, you can direct your angst toward positive political action. With the election just a few days away, volunteering for a local race or participating in the federal election may provide you with a practical emotional and energetic outlet. Stay judicious and available for actions that support your end goals.
