Leading organic beauty brand Intelligent Nutrients, created by Horst Rechelbacher (who also founded Aveda and sold it in the late ’90s), is set to debut its first New York City boutique this winter.

The shop, at 8th Street and Fifth Avenue just north of Washington Square Park, is scheduled to open on December 15, making it the brand’s first East Coast brick-and-mortar location.

Intelligent Nutrients currently has two stores—a flagship in the Mall of America, and a salon called Horst & Friends, in its hometown of Minneapolis.

But it was only a matter of time before the brand’s pioneering founder set up shop in New York, where fans of his products have had to make do with a smaller selection at the ABC Carpet & Home Apothecary for years.

Expect to see the full range from berry-extract lip gloss and aromatherapy elixirs to plant-stem-cell eye serum and a free-radical-fighting serum you can slip into your smoothies. —Lisa Elaine Held
