Welcome to My Morning Routine, where Kate Upton and other good-life gurus share their personal (frequently surprising, often healthy) morning rituals—to help you make your a.m.’s more awesome.

Model and actress

Every morning I wake up and have water with lemon at room temperature. It helps get my digestion going. Then I have to have a coffee—usually black like my heart. Just kidding—but I drink it black, or sometimes I'll treat myself to an almond milk latte.

I then take [my dog] Harley for a walk to get my blood and his blood moving and make sure we're both staying active. I'm constantly traveling, and I'm usually between Florida and California and Michigan, so I use [smart dog collar] Link AKC to stay connected to him.

I can't really travel without Pedialyte powder packs—they keep me hydrated, which is the most important thing. I'll also bring some healthy protein bars. That way I don't get to the point where I'm starving and I'll eat anything around me.

I'm a big advocate for breakfast—I think you should start your day with a big, healthy meal since it sustains you for the rest of the day. I'll have eggs and spinach and toast normally.

I prefer to work out in the morning, but it depends on my schedule since it's always changing—if I can't, then at least I'm going on a long walk with my dog and getting my body moving.

I like to weight train because it raises my heart rate up to the point that I don't really have to do that much cardio, and it makes me feel strongWorking out is probably the best thing I can do for my stress and anxiety—it helps clear my head and it's nice to take care of myself. That and yoga breathing.

I'm also a big believer in colonics. Not only does it make you feel better—especially with all of the bad food I put in my body—but [I feel like] it helps cleanse you of any stress or any feelings you've been holding onto. I've noticed a big change in everything—in my skin, my attitude, everything. You learn a lot about your body. I highly recommend it.

She's not the only one—this guy's given himself over 1,000 colonics, and says it's saved his life. And this is why more women are getting colonics for great skin
