Anne Nelson Sandford, creator of the cult-favorite natural fragrance company Lurk, is “relocating her bespoke bottles from Soho to Sag Harbor” this weekend with the opening of LurkShop.
The new eco-chic store will stock Sandford’s blends, which appeal to cool women with their subtle “lurking” scents (versus the mass-produced perfumes, which are hammeringly obvious).
LurkShop will also carry two dozen or so artisanal brands that showcase Sandford’s talent as a beauty curator. “It’s new luxe with an edge,” says Sandford, of her organic, small-batch selections.
The serums, scrubs, and eye creams come from such luxe natural leaders as May Lindstrom, Marie Veronique Organics, and One Love Organics that are still challenging to find in New York stores—along with indie ones you’ll want to know about, such as the amazing Suntegrity sunscreen.
“Focusing on green products was critical for me,” says Sandford. “It’s also really about bringing together an offering of beautiful products that show customers that you don’t have to compromise when choosing natural products. All of the efficacy, sophistication, and luxury are available.”
And since the Hamptons really gets that with fitness offerings and green juice, they should be able wrap their heads (and pores) around clean beauty.
