Last Friday, Mindy Kaling welcomed her first child, a daughter named Katherine Swati Kaling, into the world, People reported. But what will her connection to her newborn be like, astrologically speaking?

It’s been less than a week, but this duo is bound to have a relationship that will keep both of them on their toes: In a recent Elle article, the AstroTwins examined the signs of mother-daughter bonds to learn how astrology can impact relationships. Kaling—a Cancer—and her Sagittarius daughter look to have a deep connection, even if they have different viewpoints at times.

“Cancer women embody a deep connection and sensitivity when it comes to relating to others, particularly their children. They have a natural mothering instinct, especially when their sense of safety and security is intact.” —Jennifer Racioppi, astrologer

Since being a Sag typically means being a free spirit, having a Cancer mother who’s somewhat of a worrywart can be little tricky. But as long as Cancers work hard at keeping their Sag children out of trouble while still letting them spread their wings, their bond can stay as strong as a marathoner’s legs.

“Cancer women embody a deep connection and sensitivity when it comes to relating to others, particularly their children,” says Jennifer Racioppi, the astrologer behind Chart Your Success. “They have a natural mothering instinct, especially when their sense of safety and security is intact.”

The great thing specific to Kaling is even though she might need to be mindful about not being a helicopter parent, giving little Katherine some space will help the wee one grow up just like her mom: a badass #girlboss.

“Sagittarius children thrive when given permission to explore their freedom and encouragement to be their bold, blunt, and brave selves,” Racioppi continues. “Kaling, known for her sense of humor and bravery on the camera, should be able to hold up her end of the bargain just fine when it comes to parenting a Sagittarius.”

Now, BRB—going to refresh Kaling’s Instagram feed until she decides to post their first picture together.
