My Favorite Green Juice Recipe: Tanya Boulton

(Photo: Tanya Boulton)

Tanya BoultonIn 2009, popular Pure Yoga instructor Tanya Boulton decided to launch her very own yoga apparel line, Tanya-B. Its signature, tie-dye halter tops became mega popular among yogis all over New York City. “More than anything, I wanted to create a brand from a grassroots perspective that had more authenticity,” Boulton says.

This December, Boulton decided to revamp the line and turn Tanya-B into something even bigger, with her partner Anna Chung, a Wall Street-er turned yoga teacher. They’re adding new styles and colors—and taking the brand beyond things you’d wear in triangle pose with yoga lifestyle articles.

The relaunched website now includes profiles of popular yogis like Kay Kay Clivio and Jamie Lugo, class recommendations, and collaborative Spotify yoga playlists from teachers and DJs. “We’re really trying to make the yoga lifestyle and community accessible so that it’s not threatening to anyone and it still has a really urban, sexy edge to it,” she says.

While working on that mission, Boulton drinks a green juice every day. “It helps my body stay alkalized,” she says. “When my body is alkalized, my joints are happier and my yoga practice is more comfortable.” She shared the recipe she loves the most, below.  —Jamie McKillop

T’s Tonic

2 cups kale
2 cups spinach
1 cup sliced cucumber
4 sticks celery
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
2 small cubes ginger

Juice ingredients then blend together.
