My Studio Style: Kara Liotta

The Flybarre superstar and fitness model shares the fashion picks she won't get sweaty without.

Kara Liotta What do you wear to work out? We’re asking that question of those who get dressed to sweat for a living in our new column, My Studio Style!

Kara Liotta is something of a barre superstar.

A Wilhelmina fitness model, yogi, and accomplished dancer, Liotta’s also the master instructor and director of training for Flywheel’s FlyBarre program. And it doesn’t hurt that just last year, she was named the city’s hottest trainer by Racked NY.

As someone who’s popping in and out of Flywheel Sports studios across the country, Liotta is fluent in the language of fitness fashion—leggings and sports bras are her business wardrobe, so to speak.

That means her workout clothes need to be high-performance, yet stylish, so Liotta can work hard with her students all day, and look good doing it, too.

Here are Liotta’s four fitness fashion picks that take her from morning to night—and even out to green juice happy hour. —Jamie McKillop

Nike Free Nike Free TR Breathe Women’s Training Shoe in Volt/White ($95) These sneakers are very light and breathable, which I love, especially for the summer. The two-tone neon and teal combo looks clean and bold.

Lululemon Wunder Under Pant in Black ($82) Wunder Unders are my favorite workout pant. The fabric is moisture wicking and breathable, and provides full coverage. I prefer full-length pants to crops when teaching FlyBarre because it creates that long, lean dancer look. It’s also very easy to throw on a tee-shirt after class and keep them on all day.

Lorna Jane sports bra Lorna Jane Pammy Bra ($60) The neck line and straps on this bra are very flattering and the star print is awesome if you can nab one.

Flywheel Sports Sweat Wristband in Black ($8) Of course, I have to add in a little ‘fly’ style when I teach and work out. This is simple, cool, and perfect for FlyBarre and Flywheel. Available at all Flywheel locations.
