Cat’s out of the gym bag. Revolve, the new-to-New York indoor cycling brand, has leaked the list of instructors it’s recruited to spearhead spin classes.
Anyone who’s ever tried to book a class with Holly Rilinger at Flywheel or Janet Fitzgerald at SoulCycle knows that cycling studios have a serious star culture. That point was not lost on the DC-based Revolve when they set their sights on expanding to New York.
And it appears Revolve president Sylvan Garfunkel and director Christianne Philipps have terrific (and probably expensive) taste. Joining the studio’s opening roster are:
Kristin Kenney, creator of Equinox’s popular High Gear indoor cycling classes, is a Senior Master Instructor and co-director of Revolve. Kenney’s also a competitive cyclist, known for wrenching every ounce of effort (and sweat) from her students.
Kira Stokes the totally ripped (and totally sweet) instructor known for her super-tough Stoked Method classes at Equinox and Reebok Sports Club. Not surprisingly she’ll be teaching the 60-minute RIP Ride (Resistance, Interval, Performance).
Ary Nunez is adding cycling instructor to her already impressive fitness resume: she’s a dancer, martial artist (she has three black belts), celebrity trainer for such clients as Rihanna, and ran the Ninja Fight Club boot camp.
Plus familiar fitness pros Jade Alexis, Heidi Jones, and Dyan Tsiumis are also teed up to teach.
Revolve was scheduled to open on Saturday, but as of right now it’s not certain when bikes will be available for booking. With talent like this, we suggest it happens soon. —Melisse Gelula
