Think way, way back to January 1, 2017. Did you set a resolution for the year—maybe to cut back on sugar or unplug before bed? How's that working out for ya? According to positive vibes guru, #1 New York Times best-selling author, and Well+Good Council member Gabby Bernstein, the secret to finding a resolution that sticks is to start focusing on it long before the ball drops.

It's just past Thanksgiving, so you’re probably not thinking about your new year’s resolutions yet. In fact, maybe you wait until midnight on the 31st to figure them out!

But you know that waiting until the last minute never works. If you fell off the resolution bandwagon this year, or judged yourself for not following through, you know what I mean.

This time around, make change stick by starting now. The new year offers a beautiful opportunity to turn inward and get aligned with what we want to call into our lives. Each year I follow a method that sets me up for success, and today I’m revealing that method.

Here are my 4 steps for a happy, healthy, and miraculous new year.

Step 1: Set intentions that empower you

Steps for success in 2018

My most valuable tool for creating change and attracting what I want is to set clear intentions. When I’m connected to my desires, I feel energized and excited to take the necessary steps toward change. Without a clear intention you can feel stuck and lose your resolution mojo. Set your clear intentions now!

Ask yourself the following questions and free-write the answers, letting your pen flow:

  • What do I want to change in the new year?
  • What do I want to attract into my life this new year?
  • How do I want to feel?

Getting clear about your intentions is the first essential step toward realizing them.

Step 2: Say nice things to yourself, because you’re the only one listening

When you see yourself with compassion and acceptance, you release the resistance and judgment you’ve placed upon yourself, clearing the way to feel happier. When you change your thoughts and words, you change your energy. Your shift in energy gives you momentum and inspiration, and it even expands time! Let’s face it, we have no time for self-judgment. Lift your spirit instantly by saying nice things to yourself.

Step 3: New year, no judgment

This new year it is my intention to help you clear away the habit that’s held you back from everything you want. That habit is judgment. When you heal your judgment, you feel a sense of peace and freedom unlike any you’ve ever known. Your relationships improve, you raise your vibration, and you begin attracting your desires.

On January 2, I launch my sixth book, Judgment Detox. In the book I guide you through my powerful six-step method for healing judgment so you can release the beliefs that hold you back from living a better life. Preorder it now and it will arrive at the start of the new year.

Step 4: Remember that you don’t have to figure it all out on your own

Sometimes creating change and sticking to resolutions can feel overwhelming. Maybe you don’t even know where to start. The good news is that this year you don’t need to figure it out. I’ve got the method to help you release the beliefs that are holding you back from living a better life. Starting January 5, I’m launching a series of events that will rock your world.

At these intimate live events to celebrate the launch of Judgment Detox, I’ll teach some of the most powerful lessons from the book and share personal stories of how this practice has changed my life. I’ll lead guided meditations to help you heal judgment and clear space for peace. You don’t need to figure out your plan for happiness and success in 2018. I’ve got it for you—so join me live this January!
