If you think eco-friendly fashion means shapeless pieces that feel like cardboard, look no further than fashion’s premiere stages. From Paris Fashion Week where Gucci unveiled a line of sustainable luxe bags to the Academy Awards (remember Helen Hunt in that H&M earth conscious gown?), sustainable style is, well, stylish.

It has to be. As is true in nutrition—if good-for-you food is tasteless and gross, who wants to eat it?—the same goes for fashion, says Noelle Sciacca, associate market editor at Lucky magazine. “The idea of environmentally friendly clothing is wonderful, but it’s a waste of time and energy if no one wants to wear it.”
