As if Santa Monica wasn’t already flush with healthy hotspots for fast casual food, there are more hitting the dining scene.

Hermosa Beach’s The Source Cafe at the Beach opened a pop-up restaurant on Main Street earlier this month that will run until February 8 of next year. What you also need to know is that the pop-up is housed in an upcoming Bareburger space, which will be the first West Coast location for the organic gourmet burger chain.

“We feel that the Santa Monica and Venice customer will welcome and appreciate our food and message,” The Source Cafe executive chef Amber Caudle says. “We’re focused on healthy, life-enhancing foods—a perfect fit for the active, health-conscious Santa Monica community.”

The Source Cafe uses local and (partly) organic ingredients for wraps, salads, gluten-free baked goods, smoothies, juices, and coffee at the Santa Monica location. Expect options like Curry Egg Salad toast with turmeric almond aioli, and sunflower seeds on Paleo flax bread, and pineapple, grapefruit, turmeric, and fennel fresh-pressed juices.

And while you may have to trek to Hermosa Beach to get that same menu fix come February, Bareburger is sure to draw in a similar crowd, as Los Angeles gets its first taste of the East Coast healthier burger phenomenon. —Jamie McKillop
