Welcome to our weekly roundup of wellness news we’ve spotted and reported throughout the week. Our Page Six!

According to, Adele announced this week that she’s giving up meat. The soulful singer said she made the decision out of love for her pooch (who does bear a striking resemblance to a hot dog), not for weight loss.

Speaking of weight loss, Jenny Craig just launched an online personal training service, My JennyFit, to accompany its famed diet program. But will New Yorkers care?

In other fitness tech news, celeb instructor Kristin McGee launched an iPhone/iPad app that appears to be aimed at women who really, absolutely, don’t have any time. It features eight 10-minute yoga and Pilates workouts.

What to wear while you sculpt and tone? Racked reports that in addition to Adidas, Lululemon is eyeing Brooklyn’s Barclays Center (the new home of the Nets) for its next location, even though its Bergen Street showroom is just a few blocks away.

Some new lightweight looks from Pumagility

This week, we got a sneak peek at the new minimalist shoe collections from New Balance and Puma, most of which will be available this summer. Expect improved design (buh-bye flipper foot), new lines just for running, and lots of bright, bold, and neon colors.

In yoga news, Kula Yoga and Virayoga will be hosting a joint celebration of their studios’ 10-year anniversaries at Wanderlust Vermont this summer, complete with a Schuyler-Elena co-taught class, cocktails, and hot-tub trikonasanas.

If you’d rather get your yoga-party on in the city, Yoga for Foodies guru Dave Romanelli will be hosting a Grateful Dead Yoga Hour on April 20 at Pure Yoga (Cue “I Will Get By” during standing split).

And in case you haven’t heard, YogaVida’s Hilaria Thomas got engaged to Alec Baldwin, prompting journalist yoga-class crashing that made Alec just a little angry.

organic avenueIn healthy beverage news, Organic Avenue is finally offering a (lighter! cheaper!) plastic bottle option for on-the-go juice lovers.

In Pursuit of Tea announced this week that its Crosby Street store will be closing (so sad!), but a workout studio with slightly stronger drinks opened in the Flatiron District.

For vegan beauty buffs, a warning: researchers found that cruelty-free labels on cosmetics may not be as honest as they seem. In better beauty news, another study found that thyme may be as effective against acne as benzoyl peroxide.
