Yogis try out Deepak Chopra's new yoga center in Vancouver

Welcome to our weekly roundup of wellness news we’ve spotted and reported throughout the week. Our Page Six!

Deepak goes north. Deepak Chopra’s “Homebase” may be in New York, but for his first ever Chopra Yoga Center, he chose Vancouver. The just-opened center will offer a variety of yoga styles, food from Organic Lives, Ayurvedic medicine, naturopathy, and bodywork.

Curls are cuter. Brazilian Blowout settled a lawsuit for $4.5 million this week, but while it has to pay those “harmed” by its product, it will continue to manufacture it will formaldehyde—this time, with a warning.

Renew your wedding (weight) vows. Redbook and Equinox are teaming up to offer the Wedding Dress Challenge. But it’s not for brides—they want you to try to lose weight to fit back into the dress you wore down the aisle years ago. At least your gown will get a second use?

The wellness underground. Le Parker Meridian’s new underground wellness space officially opened this Monday, with Drybar blowouts, TenOverTen manicures, and kale salads from the Blue Dog Cafe. If only the subway were this healthy.

Urban sprouts. Grow to Learn NYC, GrowNYC’s school garden initiative, announced this week that it had planted its 200th garden in a New York City school, just in time for the program’s one year anniversary.

Practically-free yoga. Starting this week, Yogavida will be offering a $1 community class at its 666 Broadway location every day at 2:00p.m. The classes will be taught by recent teacher-training graduates—it’s like the Dermalogica Academy of yoga.

Say goodbye to these bottles, and hello to two extra dollars in your pocket

Yoga clubbing. The yoga studio-as-nightclub movement kicked into high gear this week with the announcement of two new events coming to New York—Ecstatic Dance and Yoga Rave. Cue the electronic kirtan.

Spin with space. SoulCycle’s Upper East Side location will more than double in size by Memorial Day. Look for two spin studios and showers in the upgraded new space.

Juice deposit retired. New Yorkers love Organic Avenue’s eco-friendly bottles in theory, while bemoaning the hassle and expense. Finally, Organic Avenue is ditching the $2 deposit for new, lightweight glass bottles.
