With Venus, the Sun, and Mercury Conjoining Uranus in Taurus, Expect Clues for Big Life Shifts To Come

The week ahead promises to unleash creative potential, and it doesn't waste much time as it gets started. While we may crave a bit of calm on Sunday, the cosmos unleash a swath of intensity. The sun and Mercury conjoin in Aries at 28° while both continue to square Pluto in Capricorn. When the sun and Mercury conjoin (aka cazimi, which means a planet is close to the sun), it's a potent moment to listen to what you subtly know, to tune deeply into your intuition and hear the voice of your soul.

Like a new moon, which happens when the sun and moon conjoin, Mercury's conjunction to the sun similarly provides a sacred opportunity to set an intention and call forth something new into existence. With Pluto on the scene (Pluto also forms an inconjunct to Mars this same day), you may find yourself eliminating something that isn't working, too, like a way of thinking or being that isn't healthy—for example, participating in a toxic power dynamic with someone else.

So whatever comes up for you on Sunday, take it seriously. Carve out downtime to be alone and hold space for the sacred.

Remember, right now, the sky is still free of retrograde planets, but that won't be true for too much longer. Pluto goes retrograde at the end of this month, and his square to the sun and Mercury and inconjunct to Mars on Sunday may provide a significant turning point soon to be refined. So stay conscious and flexible, and leverage your awareness and the power of intention.

Come Monday, we bid adieu to Aries season as both the sun and Mercury move into Taurus simultaneously. Taurus is a fixed Earth sign that stabilizes the season. Last week, Venus moved into Taurus, too, meaning we are already warming up to the goddess of love in her home sign.

Here in the northern hemisphere, spring's coming to full bloom, as the season of fertility gives way to lush abundance. Yet, there's a caveat to all of this growth. And to explain it, I have to bring our attention to one of the most important transits of 2021: Uranus's square to Saturn.

With Venus, the sun, and Mercury soon to all conjoin Uranus in Taurus, we will likely receive further clues and messages as to how our life needs to shift both on a personal level and for the collective during the week ahead.

We had the first of these two squares in mid-February (the same week there were major power outages throughout the country, amid record-cold temperatures), and the second of these squares will perfect mid-June. That said, with Venus, the sun, and Mercury soon to all conjoin Uranus in Taurus, we will likely receive further clues and messages as to how our life needs to shift both on a personal level and for the collective during the week ahead. (Uranus is a transpersonal planet that impacts more significant trends and themes of consciousness for the world.) During Uranus in Taurus (Uranus first entered Taurus in 2018 and won't complete his journey in the sign until 2026), we are undergoing radical changes in how we relate to the Earth and each other. And this year, with Uranus square Saturn, we are implementing new structures.

Since Venus conjoins Uranus on Thursday and Mercury follows suit on Saturday (and they do so in an applying square to Saturn), the week ahead will likely feel abrupt. Expect hairpin turns and fast change. Look at what's happening in your life—especially surprises, breakthroughs, and heightened levels of creativity—and see how your relationship to your personal values may need to adjust accordingly.

Uranus, the planet of disruption, asks us to embrace new ways of being and shakes up the status quo. And, while we are all keenly aware of the numerous radical changes the collective is experiencing, it's our responsibility to show up for ourselves and our community, too.

Since this week will call forth disruption and innovation, tend to your nervous system and take care of the basics. Consider eating a blood-sugar balanced diet, sleeping, spending time doing something meditative, tending to your sexual pleasure, and taking your supplements, if doing so is a part of your routine.

Given the amount of trauma we've all endured over the last year, check-in with yourself and see what you need for your mental and emotional health. If you need to, and it's in your budget to do so, consider exploring trauma-healing techniques like EMDR or somatic experiencing. You can also blast some music and give yourself some time and space to dance your emotions and shake out any frustrations. While it may sound basic, doing so can have a profound impact.

Speaking of basics, please don't underestimate the power of getting outside and connecting to the Earth (it's Taurus season, after all.) Take a long walk, buy a new plant, hydrate, and notice how the world is blossoming. And remember, you, too, are similarly blooming.
