Just like fanny packs and biker shorts, the ’90s are making a comeback this summer—only this time, it’s with your favorite childhood treat: fruit popsicles. But long gone are the days of buying a box of frozen sugar, water, and neon-colored food coloring. When you DIY fruit popsicles, you’re able to create a version so healthy and delicious you’ll want to snack on it all season long.
While some desserts can get complicated, one of the best things about making DIY fruit popsicles is that the process is super simple. Really, all you need is a mold, some fruit, and a blender.
How to make DIY fruit popsicles in minutes
1. Choose a mold
When it comes to picking out a great mold for your popsicles, you’re in luck: There are plenty of different options to choose from, all of which are functional, easy to clean, and affordable. You can also have fun with different shapes. These are the best buys to start with.

2. Blend your fruit
Now that you have your mold, it’s time for the fun part: making your popsicles. The easiest way to do this is to look through your fridge and see what fruit you already have. While you can pretty much combine any fruit for a delicious popsicle (seriously—experiment!), these are some of my favorite ideas you can start with:
- blackberries and lemon
- raspberries and peaches
- mango and guava
- watermelon and kiwi
- cantaloupe and lime
- strawberries and peaches
- kiwi and mango
Once you figure out which fruit combo you want to use, simply put the fruit in a blender and blend until smooth. Then, pour the mixture into your mold. You can leave room to add in small chunks of fruit for some texture, like pieces of raspberries, whole blueberries, or pineapple chunks. Or, blend up a couple different combos and layer them for a colorful popsicle.
If you want your popsicle to be creamier, you can even add in a splash of unsweetened coconut milk. Or make things more interesting by using sparkling water—a totally new way to utilize your La Croix.
3. Freeze and enjoy
When your popsicles are ready to go, put them in the freezer for at least three hours, or let them harden overnight. Once you pull them out, they’ll be ready to enjoy. And spoiler: They’ll look and taste so much better than what you’ll find in stores.
