There’s a whole fridge full of milks out there, with varieties made from cashews, walnuts, oats and even yellow peas. One that’s really starting to pick up steam: macadamia nut milk. (Yet another healthy trend we can thank Australia for.)

Macadamia nut milk is rich in healthy fats, vitamin B, and magnesium while staying low on the carbs front. And the texture is super creamy—similar to cashew, though not as thick. Baking with it or using it to whip up a latte adds a slight touch of sweetness. Hello, helpful cutting-sugar hack.

No matter what nut milk you’re into, the best way to get the highest nut percentage—and make sure there are no weird additives inside—is to make it yourself. And while you may think creating milk from nuts would be a strenuous, tedious process, it’s actually pretty simple. How to make your own macadamia nut milk

Ingredients
1 cup macadamia nuts
1 cup filtered water
Salt

1. Put the macadamia nuts into a medium-sized bowl. Pour in the water. Add a pinch of salt. Let soak for at least two hours.

2. Toss the soaked nuts into a blender. Pour the remaining water in there, too. Add another pinch of salt. Blend it all together. Now, it’s ready to drink!
