To my friends and family, it's no secret that the kitchen is my favorite room in the house (erm...matchbox-sized one-bedroom apartment). As a result, that means that I lust after every trendy cooking device to help me make all the recipes my heart (and stomach) desires. But with a coffee maker, milk frother, toaster, kettle, blender, and air fryer now fighting for my extremely-limited counter space, I realized something needs to change in my kitchen. So when I heard about the huge sale on the Insignia 6-Quart Multi-Function Pressure Cooker ($30) at Best Buy, I knew that this was the Black Friday deal for me.

I've been waiting for this device to go on sale ever since I tried it at my aunt's house to make a Thai green curry earlier this year. Its six-quart capacity means that while it wouldn't take up too much space on the counter, it could still handily cook meals for the whole family, ensure easy meal prep for the week, or tackle your quarantine-pod dinner party concoctions. It also allows you to choose from 10 functions—rice and grains, soup, meat and stew, poultry, fish, steamed veggies, beans, chili, quinoa, and cake. But my number one fave aspect is that the non-stick metal cooking insert is dishwasher safe and super easy to clean. (Truly a one-pot dream.)

You're probably wondering: "Why wouldn't I just go for the Instant Pot?" (You know, the it-girl of pressure cookers.) Well, the Insignia model allows you to hop on the Instant Pot trend in a more affordable way. The Insignia Multi-Function Pressure Cooker is on sale now for $30 (it's normally $60) and it comes with many of the similar accessories you'd get with an Instant Pot, including a condensation collector, cooking stand, measuring cup, rice scoop, soup ladle, stainless steel rack. The cooker has many similar functions to the equivalently-sized Instant Pot Duo (one of the most popular models)—they both are easy to clean and allow you to pressure cook or slow cook on many similar settings. However, the Insignia model is nearly half the price of the Instant Pot model, even on sale at $50.

If my experience doesn't convince you, the reviews surely will. The over 4,000 five-star ratings all boast how well the pot retains and blends flavors, how quiet it is, and how quick and easy it is to use. "I’ve become obsessed with this pot. It’s so easy and convenient. I love it so much, I ended up buying my friends the same one!" says one reviewer. Another even wrote, "This multifunction pressure cooker is the best value for money!" (High praise!)

I recently realized that if I Uber Eats-ed (yes, that is a word!) a meal every day for a week I'd be shelling out nearly $200 on take-out sushi and pad thai (close to $800 a month!). The fact that it gets dark at 4:30 pm now means that I'm so not in the mood to cook and clean after work. This knight in shining armor multi-functional pot is on track to save me on time and money, and honestly, I couldn't be more grateful.
