You might have thought the kombucha craze already hit its peak, but just as Well+Good predicted in our 2018 wellness trends, it’s really just getting started. Fermented beverages are very much on the rise, and new data shows that sales in the United States of the buzzy tea drink and other probiotic-packed beverages—like switchel and apple cider vinegar—exploded, rising 37.4 percent last year, FoodNavigator-USA reported.

While coconut water sales have decreased, the fermented tea is only becoming more mainstream: Not only do the OG brands like GT’s, KeVita, and Health-Ade have a solid place in store refrigerators, but newbies like Suja and BluePrint Juice have also entered the space.
