Introducing the Low-Sugar Plum Fairy cocktail—created by mixologist-supreme Sarah Ashley Schiear of Salt House—and adorably illustrated by Erin Ellis above. (Cute signage for your bar cart, no?)

And it’s not just for holiday get-togethers. The mulled-spice blend is the quintessential winter drink, also ideal for everything from late night women’s circles to cozy hygge-filled evenings, long past New Year’s.

Healthy holiday cocktail drink recipe

Low-Sugar Plum Fairy Cocktail

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients
1 oz. vodka
1 oz. sugar plum syrup, recipe below
1/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
Top with club soda

For the sugar plum syrup
2 plums, chopped
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 tsp whole allspice
1/4 tsp whole cloves
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp monk fruit sweetener
1/4 cup water

Directions
1. To make the sugar plum syrup, combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Boil for 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and plums have softened. Strain, pressing plums to extract as much liquid as possible.

2. Combine vodka, sugar plum syrup, and lemon juice in a rocks glass over ice. Top with sparkling water or club soda. Toast and enjoy!
