My Favorite Green Juice Recipe: Lisa Odenweller


Lisa Odenweller is becoming a major mover and shaker on the Los Angeles healthy food scene.

After debuting her organic, mostly raw juice bar Beaming in Del Mar outside of San Diego, this winter she opened locations in Brentwood and Santa Monica, and a fourth spot in West Hollywood just opened this month. Half the town is sipping her superfood-boosted beverages or trying a Beaming food-based cleanse.

Lisa Headshot“Los Angeles is such an amazing city, and we’ve been so warmly received here,” Odenweller says, who could barely call her brand a transplant now. “There’s been a tremendous buzz.”

To balance running her booming vegan business, Odenweller stays fit and energized with workouts at SoulCycle, Maha Yoga, and running the Santa Monica Stairs.

Then she fuels up afterwards with this personally perfected energizing green smoothie that’s inspired by the menu at Beaming. “It’s so high in protein and keeps my energy up,” she says. Get the recipe, below. —Jamie McKillop

Lisa’s Daily Lean and Green

3/4 cup almond milk
3/4 cup coconut water
2–3 Tbsp organic plant-based protein powder
1/4 avocado
1/4 cup frozen banana
1 large handful of spinach
1 tsp maca
1 Tbsp hemp seeds for garnish

Blend all ingredients on high speed blender for about 30 seconds. Sprinkle the tablespoon of hemp seeds on top. Enjoy.
