The Instant Pot craze isn’t showing signs of slowing down anytime soon—especially now that the newest version offers additional features that will take your meal-prep game up several notches, bringing you that much closer to having your own live-in chef. You know, the nonhuman kind that lives on your counter.

It will still have the features you know and love—like pressure cooking, sautéing, steaming, and slow cooking—but now it’s also powerful enough to use for at-home canning.

According to The Kitchn, the $200 Instant Pot Max is coming out around May or June, and it’ll be even more techy than previous models. While still including the tool’s standard features—like pressure cooking, sautéing, steaming, and slow cooking—the new pot in town will also be powerful enough to use for at-home canning, making it easy for you to fill your well-organized pantry with mason jars of preserved provisions.

The new model will also be equipped with a larger touch screen and an automatic stirrer to make sure your food stays creamy and evenly cooked. (So long to carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms from stirring veggie risotto for…ever.)

Another reason to upgrade or choose the latest model? Recent reports claim thousands of Instant Pot Gem 8-in-1 multicookers are being voluntarily recalled for overheating and melting, eerily close to This Is Us–style disasters. With so many functions, it might not be long before this appliance becomes a total must-have for any modern kitchen.
