If you have certain dietary restrictions, it can feel like there’s nothing fast about your food options. But Panera Bread just broke some news that’s a serious game-changer for anyone who’s a fan of eating healthy in a hurry.
On June 28, the restaurant’s rolling out a trio of curated salad menus, which it worked with rockstar health pros, like Frances Largeman-Roth, RDN and Mitzi Dulan, RD, to make as protein-packed, plant-based, and nutrient-dense as possible. Offerings now fall into one of those three categories and include an avocado cobb with chicken, a watermelon arugula salad, and strawberry poppy-seed greens with roasted turkey—any of which is sure to cure your sad-desk lunch syndrome for $10 or less.
“Each of the categories was created to help you achieve your specific health goals, whether you’re focused on diet, lifestyle, or taste.”
“Each of the categories was created to help you achieve your specific health goals, whether you’re focused on diet, lifestyle, or taste” says Sara Burnett, Panera’s director of wellness and food policy. And in keeping with the company’s good-for-you-on-the-go philosophy, all of its new menus will be available for pre-order at its in-store kiosks, online, and on Panera’s mobile app. So you can make your selection (and examine all of its ingredients) in peace without the pressure of 20 hungry people at your back.
New salads aren’t the only upgrades happening at Panera. It also recently ditched artificial ingredients and shared some surprising hacks for making its menu even healthier.
