Ashley Marti gets it. The food stylist and visionary behind Instagram accountÂ Local Haven has jam-packed days, which also include raising a family in Portland, Oregon. âSince Iâm on-the-go so much with photo shoots and traveling and having kids, keeping a stocked fridge is really important,â she says.
To make life easier, Marti stocks cooked grains that she uses to meal prep for the week and lower-sugar snacking essentials like celery (“It’s the most underrated vegetable”) and apples. âThere are so many hidden sugars in a lot of food, and Iâve noticed that hidden sugar doesnât make me feel good,â she explains.

To that end,Â siggiâs plain yogurt is a daily staple for Marti. âItâs the base for my favorite salad dressings, it helps bulk up my smoothies, and itâs really great served with grains and roasted vegetables.â
And on weekends, when her schedule is lighter, Marti focuses on recipes that require a little more time, like a beautifulÂ yogurt bowl with all the fixings (she is a food stylist, after all). âItâs nice to slow down a little bit and make some special low-sugar meals my family loves and makes us feel great.â
