On October 3, Aaron Samuels asked Cady Heron what day it was, and on October 3, 2018, the IRL Aaron Samuels released a Burn Book. With this version of the tome though, you'll just be left cooking up a healthy storm, armed with a stellar turmeric latte recipe, rather than storming school halls in a rage.

The unofficial and unauthorized Mean Girls cookbookThe Burn Cookbook: Real Recipes To Feed Your Inner Plasticby actor Jonathan Bennett and chef, blogger, and TV personality Nikki Martin—fully delivers on the puns (Fetch-uccini alfredo? Check. You Go Glenn Hot Coco? You bet.). Plus, the recipes legit sound delicious. Case in point: the anti-inflammatory You Smell Like A Baby Prosti-Turmeric Latte recipe, made with rosewater and honey.

"In Mean Girls, Regina gives Cady some perfume to wear because she’s ‘such a good friend.’ And now, we’re giving you this mood-boosting and delightfully fragrant latte recipe because we love you!" Martin tells me. "The saffron gives it a vibrant color, but it also keeps your inner bitch at bay, as it is known to boost serotonin, the neurotransmitter that wards off depression and bad moods."

Martin says her real life interest in wellness actually inspired the recipe. "As punny as the name may be, I truly wanted to create a recipe that smelled delicious. Aromatherapy is a big part of my cooking and wellness regimen," she says. "Especially right now in the fall, I’m a sucker for warm cozy beverages that smell divine and put a smile on my face."

You Smell Like A Baby Prosti-Turmeric Latte

No honey, pumpkin spice lattes are yesterday's news.

Serves 2

Ingredients
1 can coconut milk
1 cup almond milk
15 to 20 saffron threads
4 whole black peppercorns
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp rose water
1 Tbsp honey
1 tsp vanilla extract

1. In a small saucepan over low heat, bring the coconut and almond milk to a gentle simmer. Slowly add in the remaining ingredients, while stirring constantly. Let the flavors socialize for about five to seven minutes, and make sure not to burn the milks.

2. Pour the liquid through a fine mesh strainer into two mugs. Garnish with a pinch of cinnamon and serve immediately.

This golden latte goes perfectly with these gluten-free oatmeal banana cookies and these gluten-free muffins.
