This Is the Bedding You Should Buy, According to Your Zodiac Sign

Everyone loves the feeling of burrowing under a big, cozy comforter—for many, it's what they look forward to from the minute they get out of bed in the morning to the minute they crawl back into it at night. And as it turns out the comforter you most enjoy spending your starry, starry nights under may literally be written in the stars. Yep—your zodiac sign may be the key to finding your dreamiest bedding yet.

"When choosing bedding I always ask clients about their sleeping habits," says interior designer Erin Mack, which astrologists say tend to differ based on when you were born. "Some people run hot like a fire sign and don’t like too many layers, and others love the feel of a big heavy comforter to snuggle under." No matter your star sign, there's a comforter to suit your needs.

Here, astrology duo Monte Farber and Amy Zerner break down which comforter you should snuggle up under according to your zodiac sign.

Aries

Aries are go-go-go, so when it comes time to stop, the only thing that will help them fall asleep is either total exhaustion or feeling of ultra-relaxation. Because hiring a nightly masseuse is probably out of the question, the comforter counts for a lot. "They don’t like to wait so they would want a comforter that warms them up fast, not necessarily an electric blanket but something made out of a material that captures all of their body heat,” the astrologists say. “It should also be thin enough as to be easy to move a limb or two out of it because Aries hate to feel trapped. Calming green tones will sooth their fiery temperaments.”

Taurus

The ideal sleep situation for a Taurus involves chowing down on something delicious, drifting off to dreamland, and thinking about everything they accomplished during that day...ideally in a California king bed. "Their comforter would have to be of the finest materials, as soft and luxurious as possible, and preferably thick and substantial,” says Farber. "It could weigh more than any other sign would want a comforter to weigh [to help them feel grounded]. A garden or floral design would appeal.”

Gemini

Gemini

A Gemini’s greatest enemy is boredom, which isn’t usually a problem since their brains are constantly processing any-and-every bit of information that's sent their way. Come sleep time, this aversion to chilling can be problematic since “resting” can sometimes read as boredom.

"They need to blend calming down with a surrender to the coming exciting experience of their dream world,” says Zerner. "Their comforter needs to be lightweight, even in cold weather, suitable for reading in bed.” Better yet, Geminis should have two comforters —or at the very least, something reversible—that they can swap out so they don’t get tired of their bedroom decor.

Cancer

Cancer

For June and July babies, the most important thing in the world is the people they care about. "A Cancer needs a comforter that makes them feel a connection to their past, perhaps a handmade quilt from a relative and handed down or one that looks like it's from a time they feel connected to,” says Zerner.

Leo

Leo

Like actual, IRL lions, Leos sleep when they want to sleep—it’s the waking up part that they’re not so good at. “They have a tendency to want to stay in bed because that shows the world that no one tells them what to do,” says Farber. "They need a comforter that makes a statement of grandeur in some way. It can't be muted colors or an understated pattern.” The louder, the better.

Virgo

Virgo

Virgos tend to spend their pre-sleep time worrying, which isn’t ideal for ZZZs. To help, they need a comforter that won’t stress them out even further (... and a bedtime meditation ritual). “Virgos need a comforter that has a pattern composed of small sections, the smaller the better, a simple plaid, for instance,” says Zerner. "Very muted colors and pure fibers.”

Libra

Libra

Libras like balance, which means they sleep best when everything in their life is in harmony. When things go wrong, they may end up tossing and turning. "They benefit by shutting off their senses one-by-one,” says Farber. “Libras need a comforter that is beautiful and aesthetic to them in some way. It has to take their breath away every time they see it or they will get a new one, something they do more than any other sign."

Scorpio

Scorpio

Scorpios are all about sensuality and "they need a comforter that is sexy in some way, that has a look and feel to it that is conducive to their intense experience of life,” says Zerner. "Soft, plush, velvety textures, and strong contrasts such as black and white and red would suit them.”

Sagittarius

Sagittarius

According to the astrology duo: "A Sagittarius would enjoy a quilt that reminds them of a culture other than their own with which they feel an affinity, either an ethnic print or a design that is emblematic of a particular culture,” says Farber. "Purples and rust colors are favored."

Capricorn

Capricorn

Simply put, Capricorns are really good at sleep. "They tend to mull things over and possibly feel a bit melancholy, especially when they are tired, which suggests that they would benefit from a comforter that was cheery and bright, maybe even a bit reminiscent of a child’s comforter in some way,” says Zerner. “Though their respect for tradition and their desire to be respected might incline them to instead use a comforter that was traditional and of high quality with a respected brand name.” West Elm trip, anyone?

Aquarius

Aquarius

This air sign tends to keep funky waking hours that involve staying up *way* too late because they hate to go to bed. The only thing that usually helps them sleep is forgetting that they actually have to sleep (because they also hate being told what to do) or passing out from exhaustion. "They would certainly do well with a crazy quilt and the crazier the better, but any comforter that was either of the past or the future would be ok with them,” says Farber. "The truth is that they don’t really care about such things because sleep is not one of their favorite things.

Pisces

Pisces

Pisces tend to be natural-born dreamers, so falling asleep is usually a no-brainer, as long as no one close to them is dealing with any sort of distress (FYI: That keeps them awake for hours). "Pisces needs a comforter that is a dream in and of itself,” says Zerner. "It has to be a gentle work of art in some way and evoke a feeling of peace and love and tranquility.”
