Picking out a mattress can be fun, because really, what better way is there to spend a Saturday than laying in bed-after-bed until you find your favorite? Given the sheer number of options out there, from memory foam to traditional springs to everything in between,  it can also feel overwhelming to parse out what’s right for you. Considering how important a mattress is to the overall quality of your sleep, the thought of making the wrong choice can be enough to send you out of the mattress store and right back under the covers from whence you came.

There are obviously a number of factors that come into play when deciding on your perfect sleep sitch, not the least of which is how comfortable any given mattress is in your go-to sleep position. There’s also the consideration of materials, and whether or not you’re looking to take your sleep game all-natural with an organic option. But if all of this seems like too much, or if you still can’t make up your mind, there’s one other tried-and-true (and, admittedly, kind of fun) way to pick out your mattress: By using your Zodiac element.

Here, the team from the home goods site Wayfair breaks down what kind of mattress you should be sleeping on depending on the elements. Here’s to spending the best night yet snoozing under the stars.

Keep scrolling to find out how to pick your mattress based on your Zodiac sign.

Air signs (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra)

The children of the wind are known for their big brains and inquisitiveness, but air signs have a tendency to get lost in their thoughts—especially when it comes to making decisions.  Because of these overly analytical qualities (and to keep from losing sleep over the decision), the Wayfair team suggests opting for a bed-in-a-box, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of picking a mattress.

Water signs (Pisces, CancerScorpio)

Fear not: Just because you’re a water sign doesn’t mean you belong on a water bed. These problem-solving, positive people are known for seeing the silver linings in even the most challenging situations, largely because of their compassionate and adoring natures. For these sensitive and emotional beings, the Wayfair teams recommends something like a latex mattress which helps to ease pressure points and cocoon around you for a good night’s rest.

Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)

Earth signs tend to like continuity and avoiding change whenever possible, so swapping out an old mattress for a new one can be a daunting task. Tauruses, Virgos, and Capricorns can take heart in opting for an old-fashioned spring mattress, reminiscent of what you’re likely used to—just with less dust and allergens trapped within.

5/5

Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)

The flames tend to be creative and inspired, which could mean nights spent up late painting, drawing, or writing could jostle someone else awake when you finally make it to bed. For any fire sign with a significant other catching ZZZ’s beside them, try a memory foam mattress, which absorbs motion so your movements won’t mess with anyone else’s REM Cycle.

Still haven’t found the perfect vehicle to dreamland? Try a custom option, instead. Or better yet, use this 12-foot-wide (!) mattress to starfish your way to your best night’s sleep ever.
