The Met Gala is like prom for celebrities: There’s a whole lot of anticipation about the night that mostly focuses on what people are wearing and who they show up with. And, just like prom, not everyone shows up at all to the annual Met Gala: The ever-relatable Chrissy Teigen stayed home on the couch during last night’s event, seemingly to her dismay per several Instagram posts.
Teigen—who is pregnant with her second child—stayed couch-bound during the bash, themed “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” with a mild case of FOMO (which is an IRL thing, folks). But, she still gifted her followers with a play-by-play of her non–Met Gala night, which TBH gave me serious hygge FOMO.
Keep scrolling to see Teigen’s hilarious play-by-play of her Met Gala night on the couch.
1. Getting ready for red-carpet moment
Teigen traded her red-carpet strut for a couch sprawl while playing video games and watching reality TV in her twin set.
this year’s #metgala GLAM was #SUPER important to me as I wanted it to really embody the heavenly bodies theme!!! I think we nailed it!! Swipe for for #creds!!! First I shampooed my #hair yesterday with #shampoo then I let it sit for 4 minutes while i #shaved the areas I could see on my #body. Next, I used a #towel to dry my hair from roots to ends!! Then, I used a #rubberband to secure my hair into a pony that i was careful not to pull out all the way! Lastly, I pulled out pieces around my #ears and #neck ! Full tutorial coming up tomorrow !!!!!!!! Like and subscribe!!!!!
2. A brief tutorial on her hairdo
Teigen went step-by-step through the process that resulted in the perfect messy bun.
3. The makeup breakdown
Teigen intended to detail her makeup look but instead admitted she was just a bit jealous of everyone at the Met Gala. She did broadcast her need to stay hydrated (you know, because she was feeling #thirsty).
