Why This Pro Dancer Stays in Her Activewear All Day (and What She Keeps in Her Bag)

Locker Room Look Book is Well+Good’s new video series where we share (and you’ll score) post-workout beauty and style tips from white-hot wellness stars.

Is there anything worse than forcing yourself to wear clothes that don't jibe with your style? (Hence, why you change out of your too-fancy heels the moment you get home from work.)

Professional dancer, choreographer, and Under Armour athlete Dani Vitale feels you, which is why she's a firm believer in all-day activewear—and has legit rationale for pulling off the look.

"Dance has taught me to love my body and to be comfortable in it," says Vitale, who's danced with Katy Perry, Rihanna, and more. “Even when I’m not in rehearsal or not in class, I still will put on [activewear] because that’s where I feel most at home.”

“Even when I’m not in rehearsal or not in class, I still will put on [activewear] because that’s where I feel most at home.”

So if at the gym (or in a studio or on your mat) is where you feel most confident and authentically you, Vitale votes for channeling that feeling all day, starting with your wardrobe.

Vitale stays ready for every move by keeping her dance bag stocked with essentials like curve-hugging bodysuits (to show off her top-notch choreography), sporty crop tops (for leaping into the air full YOLO), and multiple pairs of shoes (for whatever rehearsal requires that day). So whether she's a hip hop star breaking it down behind Snoop Dogg, or channeling graceful ballerina vibes, she has the outfit on hand to match.

"Dancers are unlike any other athletes," Vitale says. "I really want to show the world how important dancers are and how athletic we are." Mission accomplished.

Watch the video for the rest of her feel-good tips in and out of the locker room—and to see her seriously impressive dance moves in action.
