#BPOTD: This $3 Lip Mask Is so Good, It’ll Make You Want to Ditch Your Balm

Beauty editors have no shortage of skin-care and makeup goodies that come across our desks. So when we become obsessed with something, it says a lot. In our “Beauty Product of the Day” series (#BPOTD, for short), we wax poetic about the items that are truly game changers for hair, skin, and nails.

Masks give me life. If my skin's starting to break out, I'll throw on a turmeric or a clay one. If my complexion's extra thirsty, I'll slather on a hydrating aloe vera version. The sad thing is, while I give my skin a ton of TLC via masks of all shapes and textures, there's always one part that gets left out: my lips.

It's sad too, considering I'm single and that my pout's the hopeful target of a blossoming romance. Whatever your reason for needing to pay more attention to your lips, Burt's Bees has got you covered—literally. The ubiquitous brand, known for their golden tubes, now has lip masks.

They're like a sheet mask, but strictly for your smile and are meant to hydrate, plump, and nourish—instantly. Each comes individually packaged for 3 dollars a pop (less than your latte), and are all-natural with sweet almond and meadowfoam oils plus invigorating rosemary essential oil.

I apply one at my desk as others raise eyebrows (until they remember this sort of thing is in my job description), so my lips are sealed as I knock some items off my to-do list. I leave on for the recommended five minutes, and peel off hoping to for my pout to look a bit fuller.

I don't notice a huge improvement in that department, but my lips are uber-hydated—like, I don't see myself needing lip balm in the foreseeable future. And the thing is, I don't need any until the next day. The best part? You can pick up one of these lip treatments at your local drugstore.

Other rave-worthy #BPOTDs include this sheet mask that instantly revives dull winter skin and this Ren pillow spray that gives you true beauty sleep.
