Why these sweats have a 6,400-person waiting list

everlane_athleisureThink getting a coveted spot in your favorite SoulCycle class is hard? Consider that child’s play—the hottest waiting list right now is for a pair of sweatpants.

Everlane, the online retailer that’s a favorite among the minimalist-chic, sourcing-conscious set (the San Francisco-based brand is transparent about where all of its manufacturing happens), released its first athleisure collection in mid-January dubbed Street Fleece.

The four-piece neoprene-inspired collection, which ranges from a $40 sweatshirt-inspired tee to a $70 bomber jacket, arrived to huge fanfare and massive demand—we’re talking a 6,460-person-and-growing waiting list, POPSUGAR reports.

Surprising? Maybe–until you see the items in question and realize that Everlane’s dedicated, fashion-obsessed shoppers will follow the brand wherever their latest designs take them, even if that means the gym. As to whether the sweat-savvy will jump on board as well? Click through to see the collection, and decide for yourself. You might just make that a 6,461-person list… —Alison Feller
