Drew Barrymore’s Before and After With Drugstore Plastic-Free Shampoo Has Convinced Me To Buy One

It's always refreshing to find out a celebrity has swapped the designer skincare serum or hair treatment for a drugstore product. Like when Jennifer Aniston revealed her go-to moisturizer wasn't some expensive, customized skin cocktail only her dermatologist could make—it was Aveeno. Or when Priyanka Chopra told us that she perfects her pout with none other than a $4 stick of Burt's Bees Lip Balm.

The latest in "Celebrities! They're just like us!" moments? Drew Barrymore's plastic-free shampoo of choice, Garnier Whole Blends Shampoo Bar ($8).

In her latest IG post, a bubbly Barrymore shows off an impressive before-and-after using Garnier's drugstore shampoo bar. And the results are impressive. Using just the shampoo bar (no conditioner!), her hair comes away squeaky clean, alive with the perfect amount of bounce that looks nothing short of a designer style. It also looks super soft.

The video starts with a bad case of bed-head. "It's greasy, it's dirty, it's unbrushed, and oh my goodness, I need a complete re-do." Barrymore laments in the video, before whipping out a haul of Garnier's different shampoo bars. There's one for fine-normal hair ("Oat Delicacy"), weak hair ("Ginger Recovery"), dry-damaged hair ("Honey Treasures") and normal hair ("Coco and Aloe Vera"). "I believe that's what they call, 'something for everyone," she says.

The next shot is giggly and completely endearing (in true Drew fashion) as she lathers up her hair in a luscious bubble bath. While other shampoo bars can make it difficult to get a good, scrubby wash, it's clear Garnier's version doesn't struggle with frothing or foaming. As someone who's been a little bit skeptical, her video legitimately convinced me to give this shampoo bar a shot.

But the real stand-out feature is the shampoo's plastic-free packaging that Barrymore calls out mid-wash. In an eco-friendlier twist to traditional plastic bottles, all four of the shampoo bars come in a 100 percent recyclable cardboard box. As for the shampoo itself, it's good for the earth, too, formulated with primarily plant-based ingredients that are "97 percent biodegradable and dermatologist tested for safety," according to Garnier's site. Shampoo that's as good for your hair as it is the planet? Count us in.

Finally, we get Drew's "re-do," and you can actually see the results. We see her hair wet, which looks super soft right off the bat. For not using a conditioner, her hair looks de-tangled, making it easy for her to get brush through. When it's dry, though, is what's really impressive. Her bedhead is transformed into an effortless tousled mane that's salon-worthy, just without the designer price tag. "This is my hair, all nice and shiny and clean," sings Drew. "Thank you, Garnier."

For $8, we're sold on this celeb-approved shampoo bar. In Drew's own words, "Thank you, Garnier."
