I’m a Denim Super-Fan, and This Is the Pair of Jeans I Reach for Most Often (They’re *That* Comfortable)

Carrie Bradshaw had her shoes; I have jeans.

In high school, I'd spend my hard-earned Starbucks paychecks on new denim. To this day, my jeans drawer is so stuffed, I can barely shut it all the way. But even though I have enough variety to rival a department store's denim section (high-waisted, slouchy, wide-leg, skinny—I've got them all) I find myself reaching again and again for my pair from Good American.

The brand launched with denim in 2016, and is the brainchild of Khloe Kardashian and Emma Grede, who both noticed a lack of size- and body-inclusive jeans that are made to fit people of all shapes and sizes well. So they created their own, which immediately made waves for nailing on all three fronts: inclusivity, quality, and fit. So yeah, I'm pretty late to the game, but as a self-proclaimed jeans connoisseur, take it from me: They're really that good.

Good American's Good Legs Jeans
Good American Good Legs Skinny Jeans — $99.00

Good American’s jeans are known for their “gap-proof waistband,” which fits to your waist while allowing room for your curves. The Good Legs line comes in a variety of washes and finishes, so you can choose your shade, level of distress, and crop.

When I slipped on my pair of Good American Good Legs jeans ($99), which are a high-rise skinny jean style, I could notice how comfortable they were right away—they slid on easily, no shimmy-up-the-hips dance required. "We know how hard it is for a lot of women to find that perfect-fitting pair of jeans, which is why we've solved common problems associated with denim," Grede tells me. "The reason Good American jeans fit so well is centered around our four-part waistband which we designed in house—it creates the perfect, figure-flattering shape with just the right amount of stretch and lift."

She's right. The second I turned around in the mirror for the ultimate test—how they look on my butt—I breathed a sigh of relief before thinking, "Dayum." These babies make my ass look good, if I do say so myself (my boyfriend strongly confirms this). It's been a long time since a pair of jeans made me feel that confident about my assets.

The material responsible for this hug-every-curve fit is what the brand calls "recovery fabric." It's a blend of cotton (93 percent), polyester, and elastane that is designed to hold its shape no matter how often you wear the jeans. And, like I said, I wear them a lot. These jeans are so comfortable, I swear they feel like leggings (without looking like jeggings).

Good American's denim ranges in size from 00 to 24, and the website allows you to view the jeans on different models, so you can choose one closer to your size. With a few different inseams to pick from, you can also ensure a Goldilocks length—I'm 5'1" and usually jeans are too long for me, but my pair hit just right.
