Before you @ me for talking about spring fashion trends, March 20, also known as the first day of spring, is less than three weeks away. It’s still definitely wintering outside, but the days are getting longer and with that additional sunlight comes the promise of warmer weather and transitional dressing. When it comes to the latter, there’s good news: Some of the top searched spring fashion trends, according to Google, are ones that you can start mixing into your wardrobe now.
I reached out to the ultimate search-engine and asked it to pull data on its most-searched trends for spring. While I could have predicted that retro sneakers (hi, Gigi Hadid x Reebok!), headbands (via every single street style star on Instagram), and tones of pink, would have piqued interest of shoppers all over the country, there were others that surprised and intrigued me enough to re-evaluate my own wardrobe for the season to come. Check out all the top spring fashion trends below in order of search volume.

Go ultra-feminine with your headwear this season by way of statement headbands. Lele Soudoughi’s knotted styles have been particular street style favorites, especially during this current Fashion Month, but there’s plenty of room to play with fabrics, prints, and shapes when it comes to this accessories trend.
4. Sunny separates
Yellow was the color of summer 2018, and it’s returned this spring in sunny shades, with plenty of designers showing head-to-toe looks in the bright hue: Max Mara suiting, Monse dresses, Carolina Herrera tops and skirts, etc. Create monochromatic outfits with the tone or use it as an accent color—you can’t really go wrong.
Alosoft Serenity Bra, $62
5. Bike shorts
Bike shorts are an athleisure look that’s been quickly gaining ground over the past few seasons. Popularized by the likes of Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, and more, they’ve shown on the runways of Fendi, Jacquemus, Chanel, and the like. This spring, style yours with everything from tailored blazers to retro oversized hoodies and find your own personal sporty style.
6. Retro sneakers
As far as shoes are concerned, lots of fashion-lovers are searching the interwebs for throwback trainers. It’s the bolder, the better when it comes to this trend. Opt for platform soles, neon tones, and chunky silhouettes.

7. Pink…pretty much everything
According to Google, shoppers have been searching for chunky neon knits, classic pastel athleisure, and retro denim favorites in the super-saturated hues.
8. Puff Sleeves
Update your classics with a little extra feminine flair, by choosing a puffed-sleeve silhouette. While a tailored floral blouse might be a gorgeous choice, unexpected pieces like activewear and chunky knits are also fair game.
